Palladio’s Villas, a story you must discover
In Veneto, we have villas for all tastes. During the centuries of the Venetian Republic, villas rose all over the territory. Originally born as simple farmhouses, transformed then by Palladio in beautiful residences inspired by the values of the classical world, the villas over the centuries became places of holiday and leisure.
Andrea Palladio (1508-1580) projected 24 villas that today are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. If you are an architect who wants to discover more about them, or a lover of Palladio’s work don’t miss these enchanting villas in the countryside that inspired generations of architects from England to USA. These buildings are full of charme: I will suggest you the perfect itinerary.
Some villas we can discover together: the very famous Villa la Rotonda, that inspired Thomas Jefferson, Villa Caldogno, Villa Godi Malinverni (Palladio’s first), Villa Barbaro (with frescoes by Paolo Veronese), Villa Emo, Villa Foscari also called la Malcontenta (10 minutes by car from Venice and along the Brenta river), villa Pisani in Bagnolo and more.
